Semua Menteri Terlucut Lantikan

Ketua Setiausaha Negara, Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali dalam satu kenyataan mengesahkan Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah berkenan membatalkan pelantikan menteri-menteri atas nasihat Perdana Menteri sebagaimana diperuntukkan dalam Perkara 43(5) Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

Sehubungan itu, tugas-tugas anggota pentadbiran yang merangkumi Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Menteri-Menteri, Timbalan Menteri dan Setiausaha Politik adalah terhenti pada 24 Februari 2020.

Sebelum itu, Yang di-Pertuan Agong berkenan menerima semasa peletakan jawatan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad sebagai Perdana Menteri Malaysia.

Hanya seorang menteri kekal, PM Interim

Walaubagaimanapun, Baginda berkenan melantik Dr Mahathir sebagai Perdana Menteri Interim sementara menunggu pendirian baru Perdana Menteri selaras dengan Perkara 43 (2) (a) Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

Dr Mahathir telah menyerahkan surat peletakan jawatan Perdana Menteri kepada Yang di-Pertuan Agong pada jam 1 petang tadi.
