Seorang pakar dalam jenayah siber di Arab Saudi memberi amaran kepada orang ramai bahawa tindakan menghantar emoji ‘love’ menerusi aplikasi WhatsApp boleh berdepan hukuman penjara.

Akhbar Okaz melaporkan pengirim emoji itu boleh dihukum penjara dua hingga lima tahun dan denda 100,000 riyal (RM111,556) jika disabit bersalah seperti ditetapkan di bawah undang-undang di Riyadh.

Menerusi laporan Al Moataz Kutbi, penghantaran emoji itu adalah satu bentuk jenayah gangguan. Selain itu, penggunaan beberapa imej dan ungkapan ketika bersembang dalam talian juga adalah kesalahan sama jika aduan difailkan oleh penerima.

Menurutnya, pengguna tidak boleh sewenang-wenangnya terlibat dalam perbualan tanpa persetujuan individu lain yang boleh menyebabkan mereka berasa terganggu atau tidak selesa terutamanya apabila menggunakan emoji ‘love’.

Jelas Al Moataz lagi, gangguan boleh ditakrifkan melalui pernyataan, perbuatan atau gerak isyarat dengan konotasi seksual dalam apa jua bentuk termasuk menggunakan teknologi moden.

Tambahnya, ia termasuk emoji yang dikaitkan dengan konotasi seksual mengikut budaya sesebuah masyarakat seperti emoji ‘love’ dan bunga ros.

Difahamkan, denda yang dikenakan boleh mencecah 300,000 riyal (RM335,000) jika pesalah melakukan kesalahan berulang.
